ABSTRACT
The study aimed to examine the relationship between teachers’ teaching quality in the Labor Education course and the students’ work skills and values at Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic. Using a mixed research approach employing both quantitative and qualitative methods, this study assessed the teachers’ level of teaching quality in terms of instructional planning, instructional delivery and classroom management and correlated this with the students’ level of work skills and attitude towards the course. Based on the findings, the teachers’ level of teaching quality in terms of instructional planning, instructional delivery and classroom management was assessed by the teachers and students as very high. On the other hand, the students’ level of work skills and attitude towards the course were also assessed as very high. In addition, the results also showed positive correlation between these variables indicating that the higher the teachers’ level of teaching quality in terms of instructional planning, instructional delivery and classroom management, the higher the students’ level of work skills and the more favorable their attitude towards the course is.
