ABSTRACT
This study examined the relationship between the extent of implementation of supply chain management (SCM) strategies and the level of performance of JD Logistics Industry. Using a mixed-methods research design, the study involved 200 participants composed of 150 management/employees and 50 suppliers affiliated with JD Logistics in Beijing, China. Quantitative data were collected through structured questionnaires measuring the extent of SCM strategy implementation across six functional areas: logistics, production, research and development, finance, marketing and sales, and purchasing. Performance was assessed using four indicators: supply chain cost, order fill rate, cash-to-cash cycle time, and operational accuracy. Qualitative data were gathered to identify the problems and challenges encountered in implementing SCM strategies. Statistical tools such as frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson product–moment correlation were used to analyze the quantitative data, while thematic analysis was applied to the qualitative responses. The findings revealed that JD Logistics Industry implements its SCM strategies to a moderate extent and demonstrates a moderate level of performance across the identified indicators. Logistics recorded the lowest level of implementation among the functional areas, while purchasing showed the highest. Significant differences were observed in the participants’ assessments when grouped according to age, educational attainment, and years in service. Moreover, the results indicated strong and statistically significant relationships between the extent of SCM strategy implementation and the level of organizational performance. Qualitative findings highlighted challenges related to technological integration, supply chain disruptions, cost management pressures, and coordination issues among supply chain partners. The study concludes that strengthening the integration and execution of SCM strategies, particularly in logistics operations and digital technologies, is essential for improving operational efficiency, service quality, and overall supply chain performance in JD Logistics Industry.
