SCHOOL CULTURE AND EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT IN GUANGZHOU INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

ABSTRACT
As a private college, Guangzhou Institute of Science and Technology (GZIST) is still in the early stages of development. In this process, the construction of school culture has always been an essential factor for the high-quality development of the college. GZIST University faces many challenges in educational management, including insufficient operation funds, poor grades of freshman students, flawed performance appraisal and reward systems and others. Based on the above statements, the purposes of this study included: firstly, evaluating the school culture along the dimensions of innovation, decision-making and risk-taking of GZIST University. Secondly, assessing the extent of implementation along the dimension of planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling in educational management of GZIST University. Thirdly, figuring out the flaws in school culture and defects in educational management, thereby proposing a plan of action to fix the drawbacks in school culture and educational management policies, and eventually improve the school culture and educational management in GZIST University. In addition, this research also explored the relationship between school culture and educational management. The purpose is to stimulate GZIST school culture and then promote the healthy development of school education management.
