ABSTRACT

This study examined the relationship between the extent of implementation of procurement management strategies and the performance level of Qingdao Wan Yujiu Company. Employing a mixed-methods research approach, the study gathered data from employees primarily responsible for procurement. The majority of participants were women aged 31–40, holding bachelor’s degrees, and had been with the company for 6–10 years. Findings revealed that the company demonstrates a high level of implementation in cost reduction, total quality management, supplier management, and optimization. However, green procurement and risk management were only implemented at a moderate level. Additionally, the company achieved a high performance level in compliance, supplier defect rates, purchase order and invoice accuracy, emergency purchases, and supplier delivery times. A strong positive correlation was found between the extent of procurement management strategy implementation and company performance. Key challenges identified include inconsistent application of green procurement standards, insufficient preventive measures for supplier quality issues, and infrequent supplier performance evaluations. Strengthening procurement management strategies is expected to further enhance the company’s overall performance.
