ABSTRACT
This article aims to take Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology as an example to study and analyze the current situation and action plan of laboratory management practice. This study adopted the methods of discussion and questionnaire survey, with 45 laboratory administrators and teachers and 400 on-campus students as the survey subjects, totaling 445 people. Two groups of participants evaluated the accessibility and sufficiency of laboratory management practices, as well as the utilization of laboratory equipment and inventory supervision. The results of the analysis show that the satisfaction of the two groups of participants with the laboratory management practices is relatively consistent, and there are no obvious problems in these aspects of laboratory management. Furthermore, according to different professional groups, there are significant differences in the response of laboratory resource allocation. Further research results also show that the relationship between laboratory management practices and the implementation degree of laboratory procedures, policies and guidelines is the key foundation for the success of laboratory management. On the other hand, the qualitative responses of the two groups of participants highlighted some problems and challenges, including unbalanced allocation of laboratory resources, insufficient utilization of equipment, low intelligence level of the laboratory inventory management system, insufficient support for remote access to the laboratory, lagging maintenance and update of laboratory equipment, and inadequate implementation of laboratory procedures, policies and guidelines. Based on these findings, researchers have formulated an action plan aimed at improving the current situation of laboratory management at Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology.
