ABSTRACT
This study investigated the teacher development program at Zhongshan Technical Secondary School, involving 209 in-service teachers. The findings revealed that the program has been highly successful based on participant assessments. Participants rated the program’s activities, resources, monitoring and evaluation, and administrative support—including environmental, instructional, technical, and financial aspects—as being implemented to a very great extent. The program was also noted for significantly enhancing teacher competencies, indicating a positive correlation between program implementation and improved professional skills. This underscores the program’s role in fostering long-term positive impacts on teachers’ professional growth and educational effectiveness. However, the program also faces problems/challenges. To address these problems/challenges and enhance its impact, a comprehensive action plan has been developed to provide better support and development pathways for teachers. In summary, this study emphasized the critical role of ongoing support and targeted interventions in optimizing teacher development programs. By addressing identified problems/challenges and leveraging strengths in the implementation process, Zhongshan Technical Secondary School can strengthen its teacher development efforts, ultimately fostering improved educational outcomes and promoting professional growth among its staff.
