ABSTRACT
With the rapid development of the social economy, the demand for education in society is becoming increasingly high. Home-school cooperation, as an important part of the education system, is a hot topic in current education reform and a trend in international education development. As a teacher specializing in primary school education and a parent, the researcher hopes to explore effective strategies and methods to enhance home-school cooperation. In order to understand the home-school partnership of selected primary schools, this study investigated the home-school partnership in selected primary schools in Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, exploring the extent of its implementation, participants’ engagement, and the challenges faced. A mixed research approach was employed, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. The study involved administrators, teachers, and parents of the selected primary schools. Key findings revealed that the implementation of home-school partnership objectives, strategies, and monitoring was generally largely generally assessed. Significant differences were observed in participants’ assessments based on variables such as type of participant, school, and educational attainment. The study also found high levels of engagement in activities like parenting, communication, volunteering, learning at home, and decision-making. However, participants identified several challenges, including communication difficulties, differing educational conceptions, and lack of trust and resources.
