ABSTRACT

Workplace stress, work performance, and organizational commitment are critical issues among healthcare professionals. This study explored the relationships between these factors among employees of Stomatological Hospital, focusing on their workplace stress levels, work performance, and organizational commitment dimensions, such as affective, continuance, and
normative commitment. A mixed research approach was employed, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. Total enumeration was used to identify the participants of the study. For quantitative data, the Workplace Stress Scale (Wang, 2021), Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ; Lencioni, 2013), and Allen and Meyer’s (1990) Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) were used, each demonstrating strong reliability and validity. These tools assessed the levels of workplace stress, work performance, and organizational commitment among the participants. A correlational analysis determined the significant relationships among these variables. For qualitative data, thematic analysis documented the challenges participants faced in relation to workplace stress, work performance, and organizational commitment. The findings revealed that workplace stress was negatively correlated with work performance and organizational commitment. The thematic analysis highlighted challenges, such as managing work-related stress and maintaining optimal performance, which impacted organizational commitment. The study’s results provide valuable insights for developing interventions to reduce workplace stress, improve performance, and enhance organizational commitment in healthcare settings.
