ABSTRACT

This study sought to investigate the relationship among the participants’ mental health status, level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior. The study utilized a mixed research approach employing quantitative and qualitative research methods. The participants of this study were Dentist, Nurses and Administrative Employees of Shenzhen Stommatological Hospital of Southern Medical University, Pingshan China. The instruments used for the study assess the participants’ mental health status, level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior. Moreover, an open – ended questionnaire was also utilized to gather the participants problems and challenges related to their mental health status, level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior. The data were analyzed utilizing the frequency and percentage distribution to describe the participants’ profile and level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior. Chi square test was also used to investigate the significant differences of the participants’ mental health status, level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior when they are grouped according to profile variables. This was also utilized to determine the significant relationship among the three variables. Furthermore, a thematic analysis was used to analyze the problems and challenges encountered by the participants related to their mental health status, level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior. The study found significant positive correlations between the participants’ level of organizational culture and their organizational citizen behavior.
