This mixed research study aimed to assess the relationship between the participants’ extent of participation and participants’ status of physical fitness in Guangdong Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Commerce during the 2020-2022 school year. The questionnaire method was used in data gathering, of which the data obtained were subjected to descriptive, inferential and thematic analyses. The results showed that the participants’ extent of engagement to physical exercise for duration and frequency were assessed to a great extent while intensity was assessed to a moderate extent. Also, their status of psychological well-being was assessed to a moderate level for all dimensions. Among the challenges encountered by the college students associated with physical activity include problems of exercise environment and equipment, exercise motivation and psychological barriers, physical health issues, insufficient exercise knowledge and programs, time and life pressure, and ineffectiveness of exercise. A proposed plan of action was developed to address the challenges faced by the participants to improve physical activity behaviors, physical activity participation, and psychological well-being.
