ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine college students’ level of financial literacy and their assessment of the extent to which financial literacy is integrated into their lessons. Mixed research approach through descriptive design and thematic analysis was used. The data were collected through online survey with the college students across year levels and academic departments at St. Paul University Philippines, Tuguegarao City, Philippines during the second semester of academic year 2022-2023. Results of the descriptive analysis showed that the participants’ level of financial literacy is high, and financial literacy is integrated into the participants’ lessons to a great extent. In addition, the problems and challenges encountered by the participants in demonstrating financial literacy include financial education barriers, challenges in financial management, psychological factors, and difficulty applying learned strategies. Considering the study’s salient findings, the researchers formulated activities to enhance students’ financial literacy.
