This study aimed to evaluate the extent of implementation of big data management in public administration in Guizhou Province and its application effects in six aspects: public service optimization, public safety guarantee, public infrastructure management, public environmental protection, public emergency management and public economic management. Through online questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, data of 300 participants were collected, including public sector administrators, employees and clients. The results show that big data management has been highly implemented in all aspects of public administration in Guizhou Province, and participants are satisfied with the application of big data. Nevertheless, the research also reveals challenges in data acquisition efficiency, professional ability, data security and privacy protection, lagging policies and regulations, and information islands. The research results are of great significance for understanding the potential of big data in improving public administration efficiency and service quality and provide an empirical basis for further optimizing the application of big data. Finally, this paper puts forward a series of action plans to solve the problems encountered in the implementation process and improve the utilization rate of big data in public administration in Guizhou Province.
