ABSTRACT

This study assessed the level of satisfaction among Bachelor of Science in Social Work graduates of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) in relation to academic quality, career preparation, student support services, campus life and environment, administrative support, and alumni engagement. A mixed-methods research design was employed, combining a descriptive survey and thematic analysis to generate both quantitative and qualitative data. The participants comprised 45 BS Social Work graduates from academic years 2022–2025, selected through total population sampling. Data were collected using the Graduate/Alumni Satisfaction Survey Questionnaire developed by the Quality Assurance for Institutional Evaluation Office of SPUP. The findings revealed Very Satisfactory levels of alumni satisfaction in academic quality, career preparation, student support services, and campus life and environment, indicating the effectiveness of the University’s instructional practices, career-oriented learning experiences, and supportive campus climate. These results highlight the institution’s ability to integrate professional competence with values formation and holistic student development. In contrast, administrative support and alumni engagement were rated as Satisfactory, reflecting the presence of functional systems that would benefit from enhanced communication, transparency, and more strategic engagement initiatives. Qualitative findings identified key challenges related to academic workload management, coordination of practicum and research requirements, access to counseling and mental health services, and limited post-graduation alumni engagement opportunities. Despite these concerns, graduates consistently acknowledged that their academic experiences fostered essential personal and professional attributes, including discipline, resilience, adaptability, and commitment to service. Overall, the findings affirm SPUP’s commitment to delivering a holistic, learner-centered, and values-based Social Work education. The study provides evidence-based insights to guide program enhancement, institutional planning, and quality assurance initiatives, particularly in strengthening student support systems, administrative processes, and alumni engagement strategies to better respond to evolving academic and professional demands.
