ABSTRACT
This study examined the relationship between the implementation of career guidance programs and the development of students’ career planning skills. Data were collected from 500 high school and college students to assess how key program components—career assessment, vocational counseling, industry workshops, and internships—contribute to essential skills such as self-awareness, goal setting, and decision-making. Results revealed a significant positive correlation between participation in well-structured career guidance programs and enhanced career planning skills. Programs that integrated personalized counseling with experiential learning opportunities were found to be most effective in helping students identify their strengths, formulate clear career goals, and facilitate the transition from education to the workforce. Continuous guidance and mentorship emerged as critical factors for sustaining skill development over time. Program evaluation further indicated that both teachers and students rated the objectives, implementation strategies, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms as highly effective, with particular emphasis on the value of systematic monitoring and feedback in supporting students’ career progression. These findings highlight the importance of institutionalizing comprehensive and well-monitored career guidance programs to equip students with the competencies necessary for lifelong career management.
