ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the relationship between G University’s extent of implementation of strategic management practices and level of organizational performance. Mixed research approach through descriptive-correlational design and thematic analysis was used. The data were collected through online survey with the employees and customers of G University in China. Results of the descriptive analysis showed that G University implemented its strategic management practices and its level of organizational performance is largely high. In addition, inferential tests revealed that none of the participants’ profile variables are determinants of the university’s extent of implementation of strategic management practices and level of organizational performance. Moreover, there exists a significant correlation between the university’s extent of implementation of strategic management practices and level of organizational performance. The problems and challenges encountered by the university along the implementation of its marketing strategies include lack of mechanism to translate strategic objectives into actionable tasks, uneven allocation of resources, lack of communication and collaboration, and limited understanding of strategy’s objectives. Considering the study’s salient findings, the researcher designed a plan of action to enhance G University’s implementation of strategic management practices and organizational performance.
