ABSTRACT
With the massification of higher education, private universities like Jiangxi Institute of Science and Technology face challenges in teaching quality due to enrollment expansion, resource constraints, and evolving societal demands. This study evaluates Jiangxi’s teaching quality assurance system, identifying key influencing factors—faculty, students, curriculum, funding, and infrastructure—with faculty being the most critical. Through surveys and data analysis, the research highlights the correlation between teacher competency and quality assurance effectiveness. Drawing on theories like Total Quality Management and ISO9000, the study proposes the SOAC teaching quality assurance system (Student-centered, Outputoriented, All-participation, Continuous improvement), comprising four subsystems: design, process, evaluation, and feedback-correction, operating on the PDCA cycle. Improving teaching quality assurance is vital for meeting national standards, societal needs, and enhancing institutional competitiveness. This research offers a framework for private universities to strengthen quality management and teaching effectiveness.
