ABSTRACT

This study aimed to assess the implementation of the Out-of-School Education Program at Wuxi New Oriental School. It employed a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data to provide a comprehensive assessment of the factors affecting student learning. The study involved teachers and students at Wuxi New Oriental School who participated in the program. The findings revealed that while the program’s objectives were achieved to a great extent, its strategies, activities, and monitoring and evaluation were executed to a very great extent, highlighting its effectiveness in meeting its goals. Despite these strengths, challenges such as insufficient teaching resources, ineffective teaching strategies, excessive testing, lack of motivation, and irrelevant activities were identified as barriers to full optimization. An action plan was developed to address these issues, proposing improvements in teaching resources, strategies, and activity alignment while reducing testing pressure and enhancing motivation.
