ABSTRACT

This study aimed to assess the curriculum content and delivery of the Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person Subject in the Pasil District. It intends to provide a framework for possible revisions to make the curriculum more precise and to amend it based on research-based implementation. These changes aim to help individual learners attain mastery and skill development, preparing them to face the challenges of globalization and enabling teachers to align more effectively with the curriculum. This study used a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, specifically the descriptive approach. Results of the descriptive analysis showed that both teachers and students assessed the implementation of Introduction to Philosophy of the Human Person to a “very great extent,” indicating consistency in the evaluation of various dimensions and highlighting the effectiveness and thoroughness of the program. This strong approval reflects the successful execution of the educational strategies within the subject area. The implementation of the Introduction to Philosophy of the Human Person course objectives to a very great extent suggests a high level of effectiveness in conveying philosophical concepts and critical thinking skills to students. This implies that the course is successfully achieving its educational goals, fostering a deep understanding of human nature and philosophical inquiry. The search for the very purpose of a human person’s existence leads to living life to the fullest. This study underscores the need for teachers to update their teaching content and competencies, as teachers play a crucial role in introducing the topic. The offering of the curriculum for senior high school in the Philippines promotes holistic learning that is comparable with the rest of the world and encourages philosophical thinking without negative assumptions. Thus, it can help learners develop critical and analytical thinking skills and sensitivity to the problems around them.
