ABSTRACT

The study focused on the Muslim teachers or Asatidz teaching in the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) Program of the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines. Conducted within the phenomenological framework, select asatidz teaching in public schools served as key informants and shared their lived experiences through interviews. Thematic analysis of the data showed relevant themes, with the influences on asatidz’ beliefs, behavior, and teaching and learning practices succinctly discussed in this study.
